World congress of ophthalmic anesthesia in Chennai, India was great

img_5396The World congress in ophthalmic anesthesia was a wonderful experience! It was held in Chennai, Tamil NAdu, India on the 3rd and 4th of September. Thanks to organizing secretary Dr. Jaichandran VV it was a stunning success, with the “who’s-who” of OA as faculty and a beatiful venue in the imposing img_2422Grand Chola hotel. Dr Jaichandran was also kind enough to admit me as observer in the OT of Sankara Nethralaya ( the temple of eyes), a donation-based, religious hospital that manages to treat nearly half of it’s patients for free. The shere scale of this gigantic hospital complex, it’s outstanding organiztion, the integration img_2475of cutting edge research and the warm welcome of my anesthesia colleagues made this experience one of a life-time. Thanks again to Dr. Jaichandran, Dr, Jagadeesh and all the others -Dr.Sujattha, Dr. Shobha, Dr.Prithesh and all the others who’s name I shamefully do not recall. I would immediately return to continue learning and discussing with all of you!
