The World congress in ophthalmic anesthesia was a wonderful experience! It was held in Chennai, Tamil NAdu, India on the 3rd and 4th of September. Thanks to organizing secretary Dr. Jaichandran VV it was a stunning success, with the “who’s-who” of OA as faculty and a beatiful venue in the imposing
Grand Chola hotel. Dr Jaichandran was also kind enough to admit me as observer in the OT of Sankara Nethralaya ( the temple of eyes), a donation-based, religious hospital that manages to treat nearly half of it’s patients for free. The shere scale of this gigantic hospital complex, it’s outstanding organiztion, the integration
of cutting edge research and the warm welcome of my anesthesia colleagues made this experience one of a life-time. Thanks again to Dr. Jaichandran, Dr, Jagadeesh and all the others -Dr.Sujattha, Dr. Shobha, Dr.Prithesh and all the others who’s name I shamefully do not recall. I would immediately return to continue learning and discussing with all of you!
