Dear colleagues,
In an effort to improve care for our ocular surgery patients we invite you to participate in the inaugural scientific meeting of the European Society of Ophthalmic Anaesthesia (ESOA), to be held in Engelberg, Switzerland, 5/6th December 2019, in conjunction with the British Ophthalmic Anaesthesia Society (BOAS) annual scientific meeting.
International faculty, including both ophthalmologists and anaesthesiologists, will present on state-of-the-art strategies to provide best care for an increasingly aged and frail patient population. Practical workshops and wet-labs will instruct on the „craft“ aspect of providing loco-regional anaesthesia of the eye and avoidance and correction of some of it’s complications. We plan to provide ample time to discuss your „difficult cases“ and opportunity to share and network during breaks and lunch. A mountain-cabin dinner should also inspire a spirit of conviviality in this nascent society.
Lying within close reach of Zürich and Basel airports, and nestled in the Swiss Alps near Lucerne, Engelberg is at the heart of Switzerland, providing breath-taking views, plus the possibility of partaking in a wide range of winter sporting activities. With the Bellevue hotel we have found a beautiful venue, ideal for taking some relaxing extra leave before or after the symposium as you wish.
